1.What we collect

Information you give us directly

When you complete the coverage check on our site, we collect:

• Your first and last name
• Your email address
• Your phone number
• Your age range
• Your trade and whether you own your business
• Your answers to our questions about business debts you have signed for, roughly what they total, what coverage you currently have, and who depends on your income

If you speak with our advisor afterward, we may collect additional information needed to look at insurance options for you, including your date of birth, smoking status, health history, income and financial details, and beneficiary information.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our site we automatically collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, time spent, and the source that brought you here, including advertising parameters in the link you clicked.

We use the Meta Pixel on our site. It tells Meta that a visit or form submission happened so we can measure whether our advertising works. Your answers to the coverage check questions are not sent to Meta.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking them may stop parts of our site from working.

2.Why we collect it

We use your information to:

• Show you the results of the coverage check you requested
• Have a licensed advisor contact you by phone, text, or email about life insurance
• Obtain illustrative pricing and, if you choose to proceed, prepare and submit an insurance application on your behalf
• Answer your questions and keep records of our dealings with you
• Measure and improve our advertising and our website
• Meet our legal, regulatory, and record-keeping obligations

We do not use your information for any purpose you would not reasonably expect from the list above.

3.Your consent

By submitting the form on our site, you consent to us collecting and using your information for the purposes above, and you expressly consent to being contacted by a licensed advisor by phone, text, and email — including at a number registered on the National Do Not Call List.

You can withdraw consent at any time. Email us at privacy@zorionlife.com or tell the advisor on the phone. We will stop contacting you and add you to our internal do-not-contact list.

Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide certain services, such as continuing an insurance application already in progress. Some information must be kept to meet legal and regulatory requirements even after you withdraw consent.

4.Who we share it with

We share your personal information only in these situations:

Insurance companies and distributors. If you ask us to look at coverage for you, we share the information needed to obtain pricing or submit an application with insurance carriers and the managing general agency we work through. Each has its own privacy practices governing the information once they hold it.

Service providers. Companies that help us operate — website hosting, form and database software, email and phone services, advertising platforms, and analytics. They may only use your information to perform services for us.

Legal requirements. Where required by law, court order, or a regulator such as the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario.

Nobody else. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not share it with other insurance agents, lead-generation companies, or marketers.

5.Information stored outside Canada

Some of our service providers store or process information on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States. While your information is in another country, it may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities of that country under its laws.

We use service providers that apply safeguards comparable to ours. If you want to know more about where your information is held, contact our Privacy Officer.

6.How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes described here, or as long as the law requires.

• If you complete the form but do not proceed: up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymized.
• If you purchase a policy through us: for the life of the policy plus the period required by insurance regulation and applicable limitation periods.
• If you ask us to delete your information: we delete it, except where we are legally required to keep it.

7.How we protect it

We use reasonable physical, organizational, and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections, access restricted to people who need it, and password-protected systems.

No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take our obligations seriously.

If a breach occurs that creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as PIPEDA requires.

8.Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
• Withdraw consent, subject to legal and contractual restrictions
• Ask questions about how your information is handled
• Complain about our handling of your information

To exercise any of these, contact our Privacy Officer below. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity first.

9.Children

Our services are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version is always posted here with the date it took effect. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page. Continuing to use our site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
